Sport Fishing

Port Douglas is World famous, offering the best Black Marlin fishing grounds.  There are plenty of excellent opportunities to catch 1000 lb + book your trip in any of the months ending in R – September right through to the end of December.

Most of the year, there are great opportunities to catch giant trevally, sailfish, tuna, mahi-mahi and wahoo.

Estuaries and local Rivers

Local rivers and estuaries provide excellent fishing locations.  Daintree River, Dickson Inlet, Mowbray River and Muddy Creek are popular locations try your luck for Barramundi, Tarpon, threadfin salmon, mangrove jack, fingermark and queenfish.

Land-based fishing

Port Douglas local’s recommend fishing for grunter, bream and flathead at Southern Four Mile Beach, Rex Smeal Park, Shipwreck Wharf and the Marina Road wall.
