Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina at a Glance

Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina is on Dickson Inlet on the western side of Port Douglas and is the departure point for most Great Barrier Reef tours. It is also a popular dining and sunset spot, with the Sugar Wharf restaurants and bars close by.

“There’s something about walking a marina at first light, the rigging chiming, the boats swaying gently, the reef boats already loading passengers for the day ahead. It feels like the world is waking up on water.”

Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina — The Heartbeat of Port Douglas

The marina at Port Douglas is more than a place where boats are moored. It’s the town’s living centre,  the departure point for Great Barrier Reef adventures, the gathering place for sunset drinks, and the backdrop to some of the most memorable meals in Far North Queensland. Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina sits at the base of the peninsula, sheltered by Flagstaff Hill, and welcomes everything from day-tripper catamarans to luxury superyachts from around the world.

Getting to the Great Barrier Reef

Almost every reef tour in Port Douglas departs from the marina. Operators including Quicksilver, Calypso Reef Charters and Wavelength line the wharf, with morning departures for both the Outer Reef and Low Isles. Arriving at the marina 15 minutes before your scheduled departure is standard, enough time to check in, collect equipment and board without rushing. The atmosphere on departure mornings is one of the more enjoyable parts of the reef experience: anticipation, sunshine and the smell of the sea.

Dining and Gathering

The marina precinct is home to several of Port Douglas’s best-regarded restaurants and bars, including Hemingways Brewery, which overlooks the water from a prime position on the wharf. Whether you’re celebrating a reef day, watching the boats come and go or simply enjoying a cold drink at the end of the afternoon, the marina provides a setting that’s hard to improve on. The adjacent Sugar Wharf also forms part of the broader precinct, with additional dining and gathering options.

Travel Kindly

At Hot Getaways, care is our compass — and a little kindness makes every journey better. When you visit Port Douglas, we gently ask you to:

  • Protect the reef — wear reef-safe sunscreen and never touch or stand on the coral.
  • Respect the wildlife — admire the birds, turtles and rainforest creatures from a distance, and take your rubbish home with you.
  • Support local — choosing local operators, cafés and guides helps this beautiful town thrive.
  • Honour Country — we travel on the traditional lands and sea Country of Australia’s First Peoples, with gratitude and respect to the Traditional Custodians past and present.
  • Be kind to each other — a smile, a little patience and a helping hand make the day lovelier for everyone.

Small acts of care add up to something wonderful. Thank you for travelling kindly.
