Scuba diving is the ultimate adventure and the best way to explore the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Two options are available for Dive lessons in the Port Douglas PADI Open Water Certification course.
Option 1 is a three-day course with the theory component as eLearning online, which is perfect for getting certified if you are short on time.
You can study the theory component at your own pace thanks to the online eLearning platform, which cuts down on the amount of time you spend in the classroom by a full day.
Option 2 is over four days with the theory component held in the Port Douglas Dive Centre classroom, day 2 in the pool and days 3 and 4 on the Great Barrier Reef!
OPTION 1 – 3 day eLearning Open Water PADI Course
The course comprises eLearning theory, a day of training in the pool at the brand-new Port Douglas dive facility, and two full-day trips to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
Students will complete four compulsory training dives as part of the course and two fun dives at some of the most pristine dive sites on the outer reef.
Days two and three are on the Great Barrier Reef aboard a modern dive catamaran, during which you will complete four training dives under the direct supervision of your instructor.
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive login details for the online PADI eLearning platform. This platform is where you will complete the compulsory theory component of your open water certification before the practical pool training.
The first day in the pool is at the Port Douglas dive facility, where you will put your eLearnings into practice, geared up and in the dive pool.
The dive course comprises two components:
PADI eLearning (login details supplied after booking)
1 x day of testing and pool training
2x-day trips to the Outer Great Barrier Reef
OPTION 2 – 4-day Open Water PADI Course
