Dwarf Minke Whales occur in tropical, temperate and polar waters of the South Pacific, South Atlantic and Indian Ocean.

We are growing to a maximum length of 6.8 metres and weighing 635 kilograms.

Dark grey along their backs and heads, while their flippers have a white band along the top. 

With a diet of krill and lanternfish.  Dwarf minkewhales are Baleen whales and have two blowholes.

With a lifespan of fifty years,  Minke whales give birth to one calf per year.

They are talented at breaching and can get their whole body out of the water.

Minke Whales are inquisitive and often interact with boats, divers and snorkelers.

They are frequently observed in areas off the coast of Australia.  The best place to see them is on the Great Barrier Reef from March to October.

Safety First

Our mission is always to provide our passengers with the best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Queensland, Australia, has some of the strictest scuba diving rules globally.   We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all regulations.

All passengers should complete our can I go diving questionnaire as some medical conditions, age, and medications may prevent them from scuba diving.

Flying after Scuba Diving

For a single, no decompression scuba dive, do not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive.  Do not fly for 24 hours after your last dive for multiple dives.

If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning, you must wait 24 hours after your dive.
We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible.

    The crew on the silver sonic are amazing! I had bad sea sickness and all the staff were so attentive, providing water and bags and constantly checking in. Could not recommend this company any more highly. When I came good,I saw some great sea life too. You’re all legends!
